Barrier Island Strong was founded in 2024 after Hurricanes Helene & Milton devastated our Florida barrier island communities. What started as neighbors sharing food, supplies, labor and shelter quickly grew into a lasting commitment to rebuild stronger together.
We believe that everyone deserves access to support and assistance during difficult times. Our mission is to provide essential resources to individuals and families in need across the barrier islands in Pinellas County, Florida.
Becoming a Nonprofit
In 2025, we became a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit, ensuring that every donation directly supports relief, recovery and preparedness for barrier island residents and families.
